Back in the saddle again……..

Well the last time I blogged, we had just came back from vacation to a mess which landed us in having to move in less than a month.   We have found a new home and are settled.  We are hopeful that this will be the last move for at least 2 years.

Since we have moved to a new county and city the kids are adjusting well.  This time Jonathan is now transitioning between classes with the rest of the student body.  He is not in a self-contained classroom.  He has had an incident with other students throwing things at him but he took care of it and had the teacher involved. I am so proud he made the right decision and not acting on impulse to hit someone or say something negative.

Christopher is taking carpentry this year.  He just brought home his first project of a wooden tool box.  Today he is donating blood again.  I am so proud of the man he is becoming.  He has made this choice to donate blood on his own.  He just all of a sudden last year asked if he could, we signed the authorization and the rest is history.

Nickolas is in Band 2 this year.  The funny thing is that his new band instructor is roommate’s with his former band instructor.  He is still trying to adjust to advanced math.  For some reason he has it in his mind that he can’t do it.  But I am showing him he can do it.  He is telling me the answers and I tell him “see you are smart you can do this.  I am very proud of you!”.  I am hoping he will see it soon.  He is also having band mentoring.  That is where a local high school band member comes to his school and practices with him and helps him.  I can’t wait to see where this is going to take him.

Zachary is adjusting really well to his new school.  This year he has 2 teachers.  We just had our IEP meeting and it went well.  The good news is that they tell me that the student they are seeing in class is not the same student that was reported on his last IEP.

Sara is working on getting her drivers license.  And is still working at the photo lab.  She is truly enjoying her job.

So now that everyone is adjusting to our new home and surroundings it is now my turn to try and make things happen.  As the holidays are approaching we are not sure of how we are going to make them the best for the children.  So I am looking for ideas and deals.  Back in the couponing saddle again.

Have a good day and God Bless!
